Synergy retains coveted Cyber Essentials Plus Certification
Warehouse technology innovator, Synergy Logistics, continues to demonstrate leading IT security levels by meeting the requirements of the UK Government’s Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) scheme.
Cyber Essentials is independently verified and assesses organizations against the five main security checks that offer protection from the majority of cyber attacks – namely firewalls and internet gateways, secure configurations, access control, malware protection, plus all the appropriate patches.
CE+ however is the audited version of the Cyber Essentials information security standard and is a further level of assurance, proving that a number of technical and procedural controls are in place and have successfully been implemented within an organization.
It sees auditors regularly simulating hacking and phishing attacks and carrying out vulnerability tests – so Synergy has again demonstrated compliance in its most advanced program too.
Synergy's Chief Technical Officer, Anish Mackan, says: "Our flagship WMS, SnapFulfil, is advanced cloud-based software, so it's essential we have robust and recognized security standards. This extra CE+ accreditation further demonstrates our commitment to compliance and IT security across the business. This year’s criteria involved more focus on privileged access, which is now even tighter and more controlled.
“Above all though, it shows current and potential customers that all correct practices have been implemented to stay cyber secure and ensure data is protected. It's also important because vulnerability to initial attacks can mark you out as a soft target for cyber criminals, because they are looking for operations which do not have all the Cyber Essentials technical controls in place.”
