Synergy leader lands top industry award
Synergy’s Chief Product & Delivery Officer, Smitha Raphael, has been selected as one of Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s 2022 Women in Supply Chain winners.
This prestigious award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship and examples set a foundation for women in all levels of a company’s supply chain network – with Raphael also being hailed as one of the standout achievers!
The 2022 Women in Supply Chain award list includes individuals from software and service providers, consultancies and academia, trucking and transportation firms, professional development agencies, sourcing and procurement divisions - all who have helped supply chain clients and the logistics community at large meet many of tomorrow’s challenges today.
Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive, says: “When I launched this award three years ago, I was prepared for an uphill battle. I was envisioning a long road ahead in getting the industry educated enough as to why it was important to recognise women in the supply chain. But, this award, the winners and those who submitted nominations—both men and women—is a testament that supply chain organisations were already recognising their female leaders; they just needed a better platform.
“This year, we received some 300 submissions. Almost 100 of those submissions came from men. I’m so proud of everyone who participated. I’m proud to call these women mentors, role models and industry friends. I’m proud to, support them and help promote their journey.”
Rich Pirrotta, CEO of Synergy North America, adds: “This accolade is very much deserved as Smitha is a talented glass-ceiling breaker. She is an outstanding customer and outcome focused leader, with the intellectual curiosity, domain expertise, and problem-solving skills to deliver exceptional results for customers and partners in the supply chain sector.
“Her broad career and global experiences from living in four countries and thirteen cities has helped her to adapt to the nuances of leading technical and business resources on-site, remote, and offshore. Synergy is delighted to have Smitha’s strong skill set driving value for our organization at the C level, and we expect her to continue to make an outstanding contribution to the growth of our company, the WMS space, and the broader supply chain, as it undergoes significant change.”
